The Hancock softball team is coming off a 13-3 overall record and a Pheasant Conference championship (13-1).  It will be hard to replace key players Tori Pahl (playing at Bethany Lutheran), Carlee Hanson, Rylee Hanson and Jordan Hausmann who have graduated, but the Owls have several girls who can step in and fill the void.

“Even though we graduated our core last season, we have girls than can step in and contribute to the team in various ways,” acknowledged Coach Snyder.  “We still have a lot of experience around the diamond and some younger girls got an opportunity to play a little bit last year, so I’m excited to see what they can do this year.  I look to rely on our pitching and defense to keep us competitive.”

Seniors Cassandra Villela (OF), Alex Villela (OF) and Gabi Joos (P), juniors Isabel Rose (C), and Rylie Mattson (OF), and sophomores Kaitlyn Rohloff (SS), Brooke VerSteeg (1B) and Karleigh Rohloff (OF) are all returning letter winners.  They are joined on the varsity roster by sophomores Alexis Wilson (IF), Lexi Joos (OF) and Mattia Nelson (P).

Kayla Nohl and Ashlyn Mattson will assist Snyder.  Snyder says Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley and Upsala are the top teams in Section 6A, with CGB and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross the teams to beat in the conference.
