The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team got it done in the classroom this winter, earning the Minnesota State AA Silver Academic Award with a team GPA of 3.50 or higher. Senior Karley Braeger made the Academic All-State team, Brynn Sternberg received Central Lakes Conference All-Conference recognition, and Braeger, Jenna Carlson and Cyntreya Lockett were All-Conference Honorable Mention choices.
Otter award winners were Carlson (Ms. Defense), Braeger (Best FT% - 71.7%), Lockett (Most Rebounds – 185), Julia Hajicek (Hard Hat Award – Best Practice Player), Hattie Fullhart (Ms. Hustle) and Karyssa Eberle (Most Improved, Best FG% - 46.6%).
The Otters finished the season with a 7-20 record, beating Roseau, 79-47, in the first round of the 8AA playoffs and then falling to Perham, 77-52, in the 8AA quarterfinals.
