Three Frazee girls’ made the Heart O’ Lakes Conference All-Conference Girls Golf team last season, and two of them advanced from the sub-section meet to the Section 8AA meet.  Alexis Mack (HOL all-conference, Section qualifier) has graduated, but Krysten Halverson (HOL all-conference) and Emma Wiseman (HOL all-conference, Section qualifier) return for the 2023 season.

“We will have a really young team this year with just one senior and no juniors,” reported Head Coach Dave Conzemius, now in his twelfth season.  “We return four girls that have varsity experience.  Krysten Halverson is a senior and is a two-time all-conference player and a one-time section qualifier.  She has been on the varsity since she was a seventh-grader.  Sophomore Emma Wiseman was all-conference and also a section qualifier a year ago, and sophomores Gracie Fales and Liberty Peterson also played in a number of varsity meets last year.”

Other sophomores looking to contributed at the varsity level are Lilly Adams, Onalea Maijala, Emma Beimert, Ella Perala, and Grace Doll.  Freshmen Rylee Stock and Madison Boyer will also be looking to make the varsity.

“We have excellent leadership coming back with our lone senior,” noted Conzemius.  “Krysten brings many years of experience and is an excellent role model for our younger girls.  Emma had our low scoring average a year ago and these two will be counted on to be consistent for our team this season.  We have nineteen girls out so we have solid numbers.  We have a lot of girls that will have a chance to contribute at the varsity level so that is exciting for our young team.  Our goals are to improve as the season goes on and to have fun while doing so.”

Conzemius, who will be assisted by Jerry Bellefeuille, says Hawley, Perham and Barnesville are the top teams in the HOL, with Fergus Falls, Park Rapids and Crookston joining those teams as Section 8AA contenders.
