Alexandria won the Section 8AAA girls’ basketball championship with a 69-44 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice on Thursday night. The third-seeded Cardinals will bring a 24-4 overall record and a 9 game winning streak into the Class AAA State Tournament. Their quarterfinal round game will be against Hill-Murray at 4:00pm Wednesday at Maturi Pavilion.
