Fergus Falls hosted Roseau in a Section 8AA playoff game featuring a number eight seed hosting a number nine seed on Thursday night. The game featured 13 lead changes in the first half. The Otters finished the half strong, taking a 34-27 halftime lead over the Rams. Fergus Falls dominated the rebounding game, 40-27, as they pulled away for a 79-47 win.
“I am really happy with the way we closed out the first half,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Josh Steer. “Hattie Fullhart really played well in that stretch. I was also pleased that we were able to keep the momentum going as we established control of the game early in the second half. It was a great team win for us. We rebounded the ball well and transitioned into our offense well.”
Cyntreya Lockett had a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds), Hattie Fullhart finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds, and Karley Braeger made three 3’s on the way to a team high 21 points. The Otters had 29 field goals in the game and made 16-of-23 free throws. Brynn Sternberg and Bella Anderson each had 7 rebounds for the Otters.
Roseau senior Janna Preteau paced the Rams with 18 points. Kayla Bachleitner and Reagan Kvien scored 9 points each.
The Otters will now face Perham at ‘The Hive’ at 7:00pm Saturday night.
