The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team ended their regular season with a hard fought 70-69 loss at Bemidji on Saturday night.  The Otters led 41-36 at the half.  “They pressured us early, but after we settled in our offense started clicking and we were able to get the lead at the half,” noted Head Coach Josh Steer of the Otters.  “I thought we had a super great effort and it was a great atmosphere in the gym.”

The Otters were led by Brynn Sternberg with 26 points and Cyntreya Lockett with 21 points and 7 rebound.  Ruby Ellison also had 7 boards and Jenna Carlson chipped in with 7 points.

“The second half was a back-and-forth slugfest,” reported Steer.  “Brynn tied the game with a 3 with under 20 seconds remaining, but we got caught going for a steal and committed a foul.  They were able to make one free throw to get the lead back.  We had the ball with 7.5 seconds left but couldn’t get the shot we wanted.”
