Dehler Double Double (30 Points, 18 Rebounds) Leads Lady Spartans to Win at Ridgewater

The M State lady Spartans ended their season on Saturday in Willmar and they did it in style with a 66-35 win over the Ridgewater Warriors.  In the process they handed Coach Jodi Holleman her 350th career coaching victory.  The total includes high school wins in her 15 years at Hancock, and Community College win at Ridgewater and M State. 

Sophomore Emily ‘Double Double’ Dehler closed out a stellar volleyball and basketball career at M State with a monster afternoon, scoring 30 points and gathering 18 rebounds.  She also had 3 assists and 3 steals.  Keely Foley was also in double figures with 11 points, while pulling down 9 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists and coming up with 3 steals.  Lindsey Kurz finished with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, and Brooke Finken and Kiera Cox contributed 8 points apiece.  M State shot 39.3% (24-61) from the field and made 14-of-19 (73.7%) free throws.  They also held a 52-36 advantage on the boards.

Ridgewater made only 23% (14-60) of their field goal attempts in the game.  They were led by Gabby Randt’s (14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) double double.  Brooke Edlund added 10 points and Mallery Geistfeld had 4 steals, 2 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 points.  Jenna Kunerth added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.

The lady Spartans finish the season with a 12-15 overall record and a 4-10 record against the tough MCAC Southern Division teams.
