Knights Top Minnewaska Area for Coach Hunter's 400th Career Win

The West Central Area boys’ basketball team shot 61% and hit 11-24 threes enroute to an 80-46 win over the Minnewaska Lakers earning Coach Kraig Hunter's 400th career win.  

The Knights held a 34-22 rebounding edge.  Minnewaska was 16-of-45 overall for 36% but they did make 12-28 threes for 43%.  From the free throw line the Knights were 7-13 and the Lakers were 2-6.

Hunter said, "We played an all-around good game tonight. The ball was moving and we had a lot of assisted baskets. We had a very active defense. We were very balanced in scoring, rebounds, assists and the defensive contributions."

Mitch Dewey led the Knights with 17 points.  "I thought Jacob Strunk, Bryce Kjesbo, and Nas Dotts all had good all-around floor games,” said Hunter. Strunk had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals; Kjesbo had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals; and Dotts had 2 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.  Cole Anderson had 11 points and 5 assists and Cam Anderson added 11 points along with 2 assists. Ben Bye had 8 points on 4-4 from the field and led the team with 8 rebounds. Damon Sanstead had 4 points and 6 rebounds, Brett Amundson had 1 point and 3 rebounds, and Sam Hanson rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

Scoring for the Lakers were Hunter Kloos with 22 points, Tenzin Dahl 6, Connor Frey 6, Luke Danielson 3, Michael Gruber 3, Dylan Alexander 2, James Ward 2, Zack Palmer 2.

The Knights are now 15-7 and are scheduled to host three home games next week.
