The Wadena-Deer Creek girls’ basketball team traveled to Menahga for a Park Region Conference girls’ basketball game on Tuesday and the Braves handed the Wolverines a 67-61 loss.

“Tough one in Menahga tonight,” stated WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap.  “They were better from the start and the deficit was too big for us to dig out of in the second half.  Credit them for playing really well.”

Erica Tormanen led Menahga with 20 points.  She was joined in double figures by Kenzie Anderson and Anjalie Aho with 13 points apiece.  Janelle Hendrickson added 9 points for the Braves.

Leaders for Wadena-Deer Creek were Addyson Gravelle with 22 and Maddie Carsten with 18.  Ally Bauck chipped in with 10 points.

Menahga (13-9, 9-4 PRC) has won six in a row as they prepare to head to Pillager on Thursday night.

Wadena-Deer Creek (14-10, 8-5 PRC) will host Sebeka on Friday.
