Alexandria put 45 shots on the Fergus Falls net Thursday night and goalie Ben Swanson stopped 41.  The Cardinals were able to hold the Otters to 21 shots on goal and only one goal in their 4-1 win, completing a season sweep over Fergus Falls.  Alexandria goalie EJ Rasmusen made 20 saves to record the win.

After a scoreless first period, Alexandria scored three straight goals in the second.  Leo Kompelien scored a power play goal when he deflected a shot by Henry Ramstorf from the point into the net at 5:06.  Gage Castle also assisted on the goal.  Kompelien then assisted on a goal by Joe Lamski.  Lamski’s pass to the front of the net ricocheted off an Otter and into the net at 10:49.  Kompelien scored his second of the night at 15:51 off a pass from Gavin Olson, making it a 3-0 Alexandria lead.  Kellen Stenstrom tallied an unassisted goal with just 33 second left in the second period to get the Otters on the board.

Fergus Falls (12-8-2) had their 5 game unbeaten streak snapped with the loss.  They will travel to Bemidji for their next game on Tuesday night.

Alexandria (9-12-1) will host Detroit Lakes on Tuesday.
