Underwood hosted Hancock in a battle between the top two teams in the Little Eight Conference on Thursday night.  The Owls led 31-24 at the half, but Underwood came back to post a 60-58 victory.

“Great game and it was a battle right till the last second,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “Alayna Evavold had a great game scoring all 13 of her points in the second half including the go ahead bucket with 2.7 seconds left.   We struggled from the field tonight but they battled and found a way to win in front of a huge crowd.”

Liz Lukken led Underwood with 21 points.  Mo Bugbee scored 13 points, dished out 4 assists and secured 5 rebounds.  Zoey Swanson contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Hancock (18-3, 12-1 LEC) had their 14 game winning streak come to an end.  The Owls will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday night.

Underwood (18-3, 14-1 LEC) has won 9 straight games.  They will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Monday.
