Schmidt Scores 19 to Lead Warriors to 63-50 Win Over Chargers

The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross girls’ basketball team hosted Brandon-Evansville in a Little Eight Conference matchup on Thursday night and the Warriors recorded a 63-50 victory over the Chargers.

Julia Schmidt was the high point scorer in the game, leading the Warriors with 19 points.  Brylie Schultz added 16 and Megyn Kelly contributed 10 points.

Haddy Baune paced B-E with 16 points and Sydney Schaefer chipped in with 9.

“Much better effort tonight against WHN,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Stephen Schreiber. “We focused on shutting down the post play and did much better tonight. Great offensive showing by Haddy and a great defensive effort by Kylee Dingwall in the post.”

Brandon-Evansville (7-13) will play Park Christian in Moorhead on Friday night.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (11-9) will close out the regular season with four straight road games, beginning Friday night at Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
