The Hawley girls' basketball team had an impressive first half as they took a 41-22 lead at the break. In the second half the Vikings outscored the Nuggets 37-24, however, Hawley was able to hold on for a 65-59 victory. Anna Steer had a game high 29 points to lead Hawley and she was joined in double digits by Ingrid Rustad with 13.
Ellie Welch (17 points, 5 assists, 8 rebounds), Morgan Korf (16 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds), Anna Roisum (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Kelsey Isaman (6 rebounds) were the statistical leaders for Pelican Rapids.
Pelican Rapids (16-5, 7-3 HOL) will play at Barnesville on Thursday night.
Hawley (13-7, 3-7 HOL) will play at Crookston on Thursday night.
