Pelican Rapids held a late ten point lead in their game with Sauk Centre on Saturday, but couldn’t hold on as the Mainstreeters rallied to win, 51-46.  Jay Neubert scored a game high 26 points and Damian Ahrens added 15 for Sauk Centre.

“We are having a tough time finishing games right now as we held a 42-32 lead with six or seven minutes left in the game and were unable to hold onto it,” commented Head Coach John Gullingsrud of the Vikings.  “Neubert took over for them down the stretch offensively and we had a hard time generating shots on our end.  We battled hard throughout, but just couldn’t come up with the plays down the stretch.”

Ian Fahje led Pelican Rapids with 20 points and he was joined in double digits by Hunter Williams with 10.

Pelican Rapids (11-7, 4-3 HOL) has a home game against DGF on Thursday and a road game against Mahnomen/Waubun next Saturday.
