Perham trailed 23-22 to the Albany Huskies at halftime, but Albany took charge in the second half as they defeated the Yellowjackets, 61-48 on Saturday afternoon. The loss is only the second of the season for Perham (16-2, 7-1 HOL). It was a rare off day for the Perham offense as they made only 42% (18-43) of their field goal attempts.
Micah Thompson poured in 30 points and registered a double-double by adding a dozen rebounds. Jacob Daniels scored 11 points. Alex Ohm had a team high 5 assists and Soren Anderson finished with 3 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Tysen Gerads led the Huskies with 19 points. Ethan Borgerding added 14 and Ezekial Austin had 11. Albany shot 53% (26-49) on the day.
Perham will host Bemidji on Tuesday and Cherry on Friday in a pair of non-conference games.
