Otter Girls Run Unbeaten Streak to 13 Games with 5-1 Win Over Stars

Maddie Hulter scored a goal and assisted on 3 others on Thursday night as the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team scored the last five goals of the game in a 5-1 win over River Lakes, closing out the regular season with a record of 20-4-1 and riding a 13 game unbeaten streak.

River Lakes got on the board at 8:17 of the opening period when Ayla McLellan scored an unassisted goal.

Maddie Brimhall gave the Otters a 2-1 lead with a pair of second period goals.  Hulter assisted on both goals and Hannah Johnson had an assist on her second goal.

Avery Tonneson scored 6:05 into the third period with assists from Skye Norgren and Hannah Johnson.  Hulter’s power play goal at 7:53 made it a 4-0 game and was assisted by Hannah Johnson and Tyra Skjeret.  Skjeret then scored a shorthanded goal with assists from Hulter and Brook Zierden.

Fergus Falls had 41 shots on goal and Ana Jyrkas stopped 26 River Lakes shots in the Otter net.

Seeding results for Section 6A will be announced this weekend with the Otters expected to earn the number one seed and receive a first round bye.
