Brandon-Evansville erupted for 41 second half points on Tuesday night to overcome a 28-19 halftime deficit and record a 60-55 Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball victory over battle Lake.

“Another slow start to the night for the B-E girls but we found a groove and some attitude at halftime and played much better in the second half,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Stephen Schreiber

Leaders for Brandon-Evansville were Haddy Baune with 19, Kylee Dingwall with 17 and Sydney Schaefer with a dozen.  Baune hit four of the Chargers 9 3’s on the night.

Battle Lake was led by Morgan Malone with 19 points.  Allyson Goodman added 12 and Kenady Cameron had 10.

"In the first half, we had a nice defensive effort, holding the Chargers to only 19 points while putting up 28 points of our own," reported Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.  "To start the second half, the Chargers came out hot shooting and quickly the lead disappeared.  The game stayed close the rest of the way, but they would hold their small lead to take the win."

Brandon-Evansville (6-11) will host Rothsay on Thursday night.

Battle Lake plays at Underwood on Thursday.
