Lady Cards Pound River Lakes Net with 52 Shots in 3-1 Victory

The Alexandria girls’ hockey team put 52 shots on the River Lakes net on Monday night as they registered a 3-1 win Central Lakes Conference win over the Stars.  River Lakes managed only 9 shots on the Alexandria goal.  River Lakes goalie Kaydence Roeske was outstanding, making 49 saves, with two of the three goals she allowed, coming on the power play.

Ella Westlund scored a power play goal at 9:18 of the first period to get the scoring started.  She was assisted by Lauren Maras and Emma Ramstorf.

River Lakes tied the game with a power play goal of their own at 12:26 of the second period.  Makayla Schrieber Horn scored from Abby Storms and Emma Stanley.

Westlund notched her second power play goal of the night at 3:20 of the third period with an assist from Ramstorf, giving the Cardinals a 2-1 advantage.  Maras finished the scoring at 10:56, assisted by Kylie Lattimer and Lillian Dutton.

Alexandria goalie Rachael Mohr made 8 saves.

Alexandria (10-10-1) will close out their regular season schedule with a home game against the St. Cloud Crush on Thursday.
