The Alexandria Lady Cardinals were ready to hit the court Tuesday night as they jumped out on the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm early and didn’t look back as they cruised to an 85-49 Central Lakes Conference and Section win at home. Defensive energy and offensive balance were key as everyone was in sync the entire game.
There was balance in all phases of the game as the Cardinals depth wore down the Storm. Scoring was paced by Hadley Thul with 16, Chloe Scholl and MaCee Linow each 14, Morgan Seesz 8, Allie Haabala and Lauren Beyer 7, Ella Steussy and Kaia Emter 5, Kate Hennesey 3, Camree Miller, McKinley Hoelscher and Kendra Wolf each with 2. Chloe Scholl recorded a double double by tearing down 11 rebounds. Assists were led by Thul with 4, and Haabala and Hennessy each with 3. Kate H jumped on 3 steals while Lauren B and MaCee L each 2. Thul was disruptive on defense with 3 deflections.
Next action for the Cards will be at Home on Friday night against the Willmar Cardinals.
