The Border West Buccaneers won a tight 59-57 game over the WCA Knights on Tuesday night.  The Bucs hit 22-45 shots for 49%.  They were 6-15 on 3's and 9-12 on free throws.  The Knights were 20-51 for 39%. They did make 11-26 threes for 42% and made 6-8 free throws.

Clint Determan had a big night with 26 points, 18 of them in the second half.  Dylan Bainbridge added 12 points, Andrew Walker 7, Holden Rinke 5, Grant Dawson 5, Kyle Kremer 2, and Caden Spilde 2.

"This was a great ballgame," said Border West Head Coach Jordon Roos. "Had several lead changes throughout the game and largest lead was only 7. We played better defense in the second half and WCA cooled down from behind the arc as they were 8/12 from 3 in the first. We protected the rim very well and it made up for WCAs hot shooting from deep. We got enough stops at the end and made just enough plays to sneak this one out."

Scoring for the Knights were Jacob Strunk with 14, Cole Anderson 12, Mitch Dewey 9, Bryce Kjesbo 9, Nas Dotts 7, Sam Hanson 3, Ben Bye 2, and Brett Amundson 1.

Bye was the rebounding leader with 7, Kjesbo and Anderson each had 5 assists and Dotts 4. Dotts was the steal leader with 4 and Dewey had 3.

Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, "Border West is a very talented basketball team. Every possession against teams like them is important. We didn't capitalize when we had chances to put them away."

The Knights host Montevideo on Thursday.
