The Hawley boys’ basketball team traveled to Breckenridge for a Heart O’ Lakes Conference basketball contest on Tuesday night.  The Nuggets controlled the game, recording an 85-52 victory over the Cowboys.

“This game, as expected, was a grind early,” said Hawley Head Coach Nathan Stoa.  “You can tell why these guys were a state football team.  They are a strong, physical squad.  The difference in the game was the last four minutes of the first half and the first four of the second half.  Our guys really grabbed a hold of the game with solid defense and sharing the ball well in transition.”

Sam Senske poured in a game high 30 points and Brevin Stoa finished with 24.  Landon Bakke was also in double figures with 16.

Landon Blaufuss led Breckenridge with 19 points and Alex Sanchez contributed 9.

Hawley (7-6, 3-3 HOL) will play at Fergus Falls on Thursday and will host Park Rapids on Saturday.

Breckenridge (2-10) has a road game with DGF on Thursday and a home game against Ada-Borup on Saturday.
