The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines defeated Verndale 57-42 in a Park Region Conference girls’ basketball game on Friday.  Addy Gravelle led the way with 17 points and Maddie Carsten scored 14.  Payton Gravelle and Jada Dykhoff chipped in with 9 points.

“Great team win for our girls tonight,” said Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Had a lot of girls stepping up and positively impacting the game in different ways. Thought we found a good balance of being aggressive offensively and staying under control. Loved our ball movement and effort on the boards.”

Leaders for Verndale were Avery Amerud with 13 points and Katie Blaha with 11.  The Pirates will play at Staples-Motley on Monday night.

Wadena-Deer Creek (8-4) is at Pelican Rapids Tuesday and will host Perham on Thursday and New York Mills on Friday.
