Perham traveled to Hawley on Friday night for a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball game which the Yellowjackets won, 61-51.  Perham made 45% (21-47) of their field goal attempts, but made only 2-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Micah Thompson led Perham with a double-double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists) and Soren Anderson just missed a double-double with 19 points and 8 rebounds.  Alex Ohm had a team high 5 assists and scored 7 points.

Sam Senske scored 17 points and pulled down 9 rebounds to lead the Nuggets.  He was joined in double figures by Brevin Stoa with 10 points.  Mason Gratton and Noah Nelson contributed 8 points apiece.

“Our kids played as hard as they played all season," said Hawley Head Coach Nathan Stoa.  "We couldn’t recover from a five minute scoring drought in the early second half.  Micah Thompson is such a tough match-up and we didn’t have an answer for him on the offensive glass tonight.  He and Soren Anderson were and are absolute difference makers.”

Perham (13-1, 3-1 HOL) will play at Barnesville on Thursday.

Hawley (6-6, 2-3 HOL) will play at Breckenridge on Tuesday and at Fergus Falls on Thursday.
