Barnesville made 47% (34-72) of their shots and dominated the rebounding game, 45-30, as they scored 87 points on Thursday night while holding Lake Park-Audubon to 45.  Twenty of the Trojans boards were on the offensive end, leading to 17 second chance points.

“We came out with a lot of intensity on both ends of the floor tonight,” said Barnesville Head Coach Matt Askegaard. “Defensively we forced them into some tough shots, which many of them went down after being contested. We mixed things up and we tried some things differently than we have previously and were successful. LPA shot really well to start the 2nd half LPA and didn't back down. Coach Schultz's kids play really hard and shoot the ball well.”

Carson Hagen led the Trojans with 19 points and Tate Inniger recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Wyatt Suter scored 14 and Gannon Bolgrean had a big night with 9 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 steals and a blocked shot.

“Offensively we moved and shared the ball really well,” added Askegaard. “We made the extra 2-3 passes to get some really open shots and the ball when in the hoop. We attacked when it was there. I thought we did a much better job in the 2nd half of not taking that extra dribble when attacking and kicking it to an open teammate.”

The Trojans (6-1) host Detroit Lakes Friday night.
