The Perham boys’ basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday night when the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels protected their home court with a hard-fought 57-56 overtime victory over the Yellowjackets. DGF led 29-27 at halftime and the game was tied at 51-51 at the end of regulation.
Owen Leach poured in 30 points and completed a double-double by securing 10 rebounds to lead DGF. Drew Sheeley scored 10 points, joining Leach in double figures.
Perham once again shot the ball well, hitting 54% (21-39) of their field goal attempts and making 9-of-18 3’s. They were led by Micah Thompson (17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists), Soren Anderson (14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) and Jacob Daniels (9 points, 5 rebounds). Alex Ohm had a team high 4 assists and chipped in with 7 points.
The loss ended Perham’s ten game winning streak to start the season. The Yellowjackets will host Fergus Falls on Saturday night.
DGF (6-2) is riding a four game winning streak heading into a Friday contest at Park Rapids.
