In a matchup of top ten teams, the Perham girls’ basketball team prevailed, 63-55, handing Breckenridge their first loss of the season.  Perham led 34-18 at halftime as they held the Cowgirls to 5 points in the last ten minutes of the half.

“We had a foul fest in the second half with many, many free throws shot by both teams,” stated Perham Head Coach TJ Super.  “This was a good win to take sole possession of first place in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference.”

Perham made 18-of-32 from the free throw line and shot 44% (19-43) from the field.  They were led by Willow Thiel’s double-double (29 points, 12 rebounds).  Kaia Anderson was also in double digits with 12 points, including three 3’s.  Cora Grismer finished with 9 points, Olivia Pilgrim had 8 and Mya Morris distributed a team high 5 assists.

No Breckenridge stats were reported.

Breckenridge (9-1) will host Pelican Rapids in another HOL contest on Friday night.

Perham (10-1) will entertain Hawley on Friday.
