Thief River had a 17-12 shot advantage in the first period, but the game was tied at 2-2 after one period of play.

Jax Katzenmeyer drove home the rebound of a Stenstrom shot to put the first goal on the board at the 2:49 mark of the opening period.  TRF responded with a power play goal from Tysen Loeffle, assisted by Rylan Leake and Braydin Lund at 4:25 of the period.  The Otters regained the lead when Griffin Babolian scored on a deflection of a Leighton Buckmeier shot from the point at 5:52.  Jack Welde also had an assist on the goal.  Loeffler’s second goal of the night tied the game at 13:18 with assists going to Max Arlt and Braydin Lund.

In the second period, Stenstrom stole the puck at neutral ice, made a great move around a Prowler defenseman, and deked the goalie, sliding the puck into the net for a 3-2 Otter lead.

Stenstrom finished the scoring when he knocked in a centering pass by Shane Zierden from behind the net at 9:03 of the third period.  Colin Becker was also awarded an assist.

Fergus Falls had 25 shots on goal in the game.

The Otters will play at Warroad against the unbeaten Warriors at 2:15pm Saturday.
