Otter Girls Hold TRF to 9 Shots on Goal in 7-0 Win

The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team held Thief River Falls to only 9 shots on goal Friday night as the Otters rolled to a 9-0 win over the Prowlers in Fergus Falls.

Maddie Hulter got the scoring started with an assist from Tyra Skjeret at 5:26 of the opening period.  Skjeret made it 2-0 from Hulter and Hannah Johnson at 13:05 of the first period.

Averie Tonneson increased the Fergus Falls lead to 3-0 with a goal at 4:42 of the second period.  It was a power play goal, assisted by Maggie Greenagel and Ella Starzl.  At 5:04, Aubree Nelson found the back of the net from Rylynn Krein to give the Otters a 4-0 lead.  A power play goal by Johnson was assisted by linemates Hulter and Skjeret at 6:32 and Hulter scorer her second of the night at 15:03, assisted by Johnson and Skjeret.

The final goal of the game came 39 seconds into the third period when Lydia Johnson tallied an unassisted goal.

Ana Jyrkas was in goal for the shutout.

Fergus Falls (14-4) has now won six games in a row.  They will host St. Cloud on Tuesday night.
