Lady Spartans Fall to Anoka-Ramsey in MCAC Southern Division Opener

Minnesota State fell behind 30-24 at the half against Anoka-Ramsey on Thursday night in their MCAC Southern Division opener, however, the lady Spartans went cold in the third quarter, scoring only 7 points as they fell behind 46-31 heading into the final ten minutes and fell to the Golden Rams, 62-46.

M State shots just 33% (19-58) for the game, while Anoka-Ramsey made 41% of their field goal attempts.

The lady Spartans were led by Emily Dehler (20 points, 8 rebounds) and Lindsey Kurz (16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks).  Keely Foley added 8 points off the bench.

Anoka-Ramsey featured a balanced scoring attack, placing five players in double figures.  Their leading scorer was Janea Arnoldi, who came off the bench to score 13 points.  Mikayla Kanenwisher and Sydney Kehr had 12 points apiece, Destiny Casey contributed 11 and Cece Bell added 10.

M State (8-6) will now go to LaCrosse, Wisconsin to face Western Tech at 1:00pm Saturday.

Anoka-Ramsey improved to 11-2 with the win.
