Liz Lukken scored 27 points, dished out 6 assists and came up with 3 steals to lead the Underwood Rockets on Thursday as they battled Badger-Greenbush-Middle River for the championship of the Valkyrie Division in the Minnesota National Bank Girls Basketball Classic in Pelican Rapids. BGMR claimed the title with a hard fought 70-68 victory over the Rockets.
Lukken was joined in double figures by Kallyn Grove with 16 and Zoey Swanson with 10. Grove also led the team with 7 rebounds and distributed 4 assists, while Swanson grabbed 6 rebounds.
Underwood (7-2) will host Pelican Rapids (8-1) on Tuesday night. The Vikings won the Valhalla Division title in their home tournament with a 51-49 win over West Central Area in their last game on Thursday.
