The Pelican Rapids girls’ basketball team captured the Valhalla Division championship in the Minnesota National Bank Holiday Classic on Thursday as they rallied to beat West Central Area, 51-49. Kelsey Isaman scored 10 points, including the game winning put-back basket with one second to go.
Anna Roisum led the Vikings with 16 points including a couple of big shots down the stretch. Morgan Korf scored 13.
Macy Grosz led the Knights with 15 points and Addison Staples had 11.
Pelican Rapids (8-1) will play at Underwood on Tuesday and will host Hawley on Thursday.
West Central Area (3-5) travels to Wheaton on Tuesday, to Glenwood to face Minnewaska Area on Thursday, and to Fergus Falls on Saturday.
