Otter Girls Take 3rd Place in Home Tournament with Win Over Hancock

Fergus Falls battled back from a seven point second half deficit to record a 63-59 win over Hancock in the third place game of the AmericInn Country Inn and Suites Holiday Basketball Classic on Thursday evening.  The two teams were tied at 23-23 at halftime.

“Overall, this was a great team win,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Josh Steer.  “I thought we played well in all aspects of the game.  It was fun to see us battle back for the win after falling behind in the second half.”

Leaders for the Otters were Karley Braeger (19 points, 4 rebounds), Brynn Sternberg (17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists), Karyssa Eberle (12 points, 7 rebounds) and Cyntreya Lockett (11 points, 5 rebounds).

Fergus Falls (4-3) will face the St. Cloud Crush in a road game on Thursday, January 5 and then return home to host West Central Area on Saturday afternoon.

Hancock (4-2) will host Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Tuesday night.
