Willow Thiel recorded a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Perham Yellowjackets to a 71-52 win over Barnesville on Tuesday night at ‘The Hive’ in Perham.

Eighth-grader Kaia Anderson buried six 3’s and scored 22 points for Perham, while Mya Morris added 8 points, including a pair of treys.

“We shot it very well, going 18-for-36 on two-point field goals and 9-of-14 from 3-point range,” reported Head Coach TJ Super of the Yellowjackets.  “Olivia Rosenthal led us with 4 steals, as well as coming through with the task of stopping Abby John (9 points), who was coming in as the Trojans leading scorer.  We are going into the break undefeated for the first time since 2010.  Even more impressive is the record of our 6 opponents this year in games played against teams other than Perham (22-4).  It’s been a very good stretch for us!”

Sydney Strand led Barnesville with 14 points and Emily Smith added 8.

Perham (6-0) will host a pair of Holiday Tournament games on Tuesday, December 27 and Wednesday, December 28.

Barnesville (3-2) closes out their pre-Christmas schedule with a game in Frazee on Thursday.  The Trojans are in midst of seven straight road games.
