Fergus Falls trailed 29-21 at halftime, but put together a solid second half of basketball to record a 64-49 victory over Sauk Rapids-Rice in Central Lakes Conference girls’ basketball on Saturday afternoon at the Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gymnasium.  The Otters were successful on 21-of-24 free throw attempts on the day.

Fergus Falls was led by Karley Braeger with 18 points, including 6-of-6 from the foul line.  Brynn Sternberg finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, and Cyntreya Lockett had 13 points, 7 boards and 3 blocked shots.  Jenna Carlson contributed 8 points, 2 assists and a pair of steals, while Julie Hajicek had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

“We hung in there in the first half, but really put together a complete second half to get the win,” said Head Coach Josh Steer of the Otters.  “We played well defensively and rebounded very well against a big, strong Central Lakes Conference opponent.”

Fergus Falls (3-1) will play at Brainerd on Tuesday night.
