Fergus Falls traveled to Bemidji for a Saturday afternoon girls’ hockey match.  The two teams played overtime with the Lumberjacks ending up on top, 3-2.  Fergus Falls led 2-0 after the first period and that score didn’t change through period number two.  Bemidji tied the game with a pair of special team’s goals in the third and won it 1:06 into overtime with their second shorthanded goal of the day.

Bemidji put 21 shots on the Fergus Falls net and Ana Jyrkas came up with 18 stops.  The Otters had a total of 19 shots on goal with Ava Myhre stopping 17 of them.

Maddie Hulter’s unassisted goal 41 seconds into the game gave the Otters an early 1-0 lead.  Hannah Johnson made it 2-0 at 11:36 with assists from Maggie Greenagel and Skye Norgren.

A power play goal from Makenna Dreher at 7:19 of the third period was assisted by Naomi Johnson and Millie Knott, bringing Bemidji to within one at 2-1.  Knott’s unassisted shorthanded tally at 14:08 forced the overtime period.

The shorthanded overtime goal was scored by Bailey Rupp, from Zoe Fayette.

Fergus Falls (8-4) will play at Northern Lakes on Tuesday night.
