Crosby-Ironton paid a visit to Wadena on Monday night for a high school girls’ basketball contest against the Wolverines. The Rangers led 36-25 at the half and went on to post a 77-67 victory. Tori Oehrlein led all scorers, pacing C-I with 39 points on the night.
“Great learning experience tonight for our group,” said Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “We weren’t locked into the game plan right away and Crosby came to play which led to our halftime deficit. I thought we responded well in the second half and fought ourselves back into the game. The game became a great back and forth battle and credit to Crosby for making the big plays down the stretch.”
Madison Carsten led the Wolerines with 33 points, including 5 treys. Addyson Gravelle and Ally Pavek joined her in double figures with 10 points apiece.
The loss was the first of the season for Wadena-Deer Creek. They will take a 4-1 record to Hawley for a non-conference battle with the Nuggets on Tuesday, December 20.
