Fergus Falls won the Uvaas Otter Invitational on Saturday, scoring 553 points to easily outdistance runner-up Detroit Lakes (269). Thief River Falls was third with 242, followed by Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta with 224 and Perham/New York Mills with 102.
Micah Zosel, Tyler Kubela, and Matthew Tuel all won their individual events. Adrian Blondeau swam an excellent 50 free and 400 free relay split. Both of the A Medley and 400 free relays posted excellent times for the first meet.
“It is always great to start the year with a home invite victory,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Randy Hansen. “I thought the boys swam really well. Lots of lifetime PRs or close to it. We learned a lot about who we are as a team today.”
The Otters next meet is a triangular in Park Rapids with Bemidji on Friday, December 16.
