Four Underwood girls reached double figures on Friday night as the Rockets recorded an 82-70 win over Wheaton/Herman-Norcross. Liz Lukken led the way with 24 points and Mo Bugbee had 18 points, while dishing out 8 assists. Mia Blaskowski had a solid all-around game with 15 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds, and Kallyn Grove finished with 12 points.
“This was a very good basketball game as both teams shot the ball really well,” commented Head Coach Brian Hovland of Underwood. “I thought Mo Bugbee had a very good game on both ends of the floor. She did an excellent job guarding their best perimeter player. Mia Blaskowski also had a very good game. She drew a tough assignment, but ended the game with an all-around great stat line for a post player.”
Brylie Schultz scored 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead Wheaton/Herman-Norcross. Her sixth rebound of the game was career rebound number 1,000.
“Brylie had a monster game,” acknowledged Hovland. “Congrats to her on reaching 1,000 career rebounds.”
Underwood (3-1) will play at Rothsay on Tuesday night, while Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will host Parkers Prairie.
