Willow Thiel (19 points, 11 rebounds) led Perham in scoring and rebounding, while Olivia Pilgrim (18 points) and Mya Morris (18 points) combined to make 10-of-19 shots from beyond the arc on Tuesday night, leading the Yellowjackets to a 69-48 girls’ basketball victory over the Underwood Rockets.

“Perham is a very good team, and when they have shooters that shoot like Morris and Pilgrim did tonight, along with the inside game from Thiel, they will be tough to beat,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “We shot just 18% in the first half, but just could not dig ourselves out of the hole.”

Leaders for Underwood were Mia Blaskowski (12 points, 7 rebounds), Liz Lukken (10 points), Kallyn Grove (9 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists) and Mo Bugbee (8 points, 6 rebounds).

Underwood (2-1) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Friday night, while Perham (3-0) will play at Frazee on Thursday.
