Alexandria Scores Two Power Play Goals in 5-1 Win Over Buffalo

Alexandria scored a pair of power play goals and put 30 shots on the Buffalo net on Saturday afternoon as the lady Cardinals recorded a 5-1 victory.  The win improved Alexandria’s season record to 3-2-1 heading into a Central Lakes Conference road game against the Fergus Falls Otters on Tuesday night.

Lillian Dutton got the lady Cards on the board with assists from Aubrie Porter and Julia Doherty in the first period.

Lauren Maras notched an even strength goal early in the second period, assisted by Sophia Korynta and Porter.  Doherty, assisted by Dutton and Kylie Lattimer, and Maras, with assists from Emma Ramstorf and Jersey Severson, added power play goals for a 4-0 Alexandria lead.  Buffalo cut the lead to 4-1 with a shorthanded goal by Anna KubuCambria Lincoln earned the assist on the goal.

Ramstorf finished the scoring with a third period goal from Porter, who finished with a playmaker (3 assists), and Tayler Treat.

Alexandria goalie Rachael Mohr stopped 20-of-21 Buffalo shots on goal.
