The Perham boys’ basketball team did a lot of things well on Friday night as they opened their season with an 84-32 road win in Aitkin. The Yellowjackets made 22-of-28 (78.6%) two-point shots and 11-of-23 (47.8%) 3’s, held a 30-17 rebounding advantage, and only had 3 turnovers compared to 16 for the Gobblers. They also dished out 23 assists in the contest.
Perham was led by Soren Anderson with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, Micah Thompson with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and Jacob Daniels with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Alex Ohm had a team high 6 assists and Evan Kovash led Perham with 5 steals.
Eli Christy scored a team high 10 points to lead the Gobblers, who shots just 28.2% (11-39) from the field.
