The Spartans shot 46.8% (29-62) from the field and hit 41.9% (13-31) of their 3-point attempts on the night. They featured a balanced scoring attack led by reserves Foday Sheriff with 15 points and Akok Aguer with 14 points. Noel Kabanga also had 14 points, while Mikele Kambalo and Yonis Mohamud contributed 13 points each. Mohamud and Aguer each added a team high 6 rebounds, while Mohamud distributed 5 assists and came up with 2 steals. Kambalo, Aguer and Sheriff had 4 assists apiece.
The Vikings shots just 37% (27-73), making 10-of-33 (30.3%) 3-pointers. They held a 40-25 edge on the boards, led by 16 from Donte Whymes. Jerome Washington had a game high 22 points. Jaquan Adams and Johnnie Ambrose added 13 points each.
M State will have back-to-back home games this weekend, hosting Vermilion at 7:30pm Friday and Mesabi Range at 3:00pm Saturday.
