The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team traveled to Thief River Falls on Thursday night for their first game of the season. The Otters hit six 3’s in the first half to take a 36-26 halftime lead. They increased their lead to 18 points early in the second half and held on for a 66-55 victory over the Prowlers.
Brynn Sternberg led Fergus Falls with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Cyntreya Lockett added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Karley Braeger delivered 3 treys on the way to a 12 point night and also dished out a team high 3 assists. Karyssa Eberle finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds.
“We had a really good start to the night, shooting well from the outside,” reported Head Coach Josh Steer. “We had a good stretch in the second half and did a better job on the inside. We have some things to work on as we missed 17 free throws and had too many turnovers.”
The Otters will travel to Sartell for their Central Lakes Conference opener on Tuesday night.
