The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team hosted Legacy High School from Bismarck on Saturday afternoon.  The Otters ran their record to 5-1 on the season with a 5-2 victory.  Fergus Falls had 22 shots on goal and goalie Ana Jyrkas made 18 stops in the Otter net.

“Today was a nice bounce back from our performance in St. Cloud,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “Great energy, better sticks and more poise with the puck, which resulted in many grade A opportunities.  These games mirror great, mentally engaged practices. A lot of fun to be a part of.”

Alyssa Krikorian got Bismarck on the board early with an unassisted goal at 5:27 of the opening period.  Tyra Skjeret gave Fergus Falls the lead with a pair of first period goals, the first at 7:40 from Maddie Hulter and the second at 12:08 on the power play from Hulter and Skye Norgren.

Fergus Falls added a second period goal by Hannah Johnson, assisted by Maggie Greenagel, for a 3-1 lead after two periods.

At 3:15 of the third period, Maddie Brimhall scored to make it a 4-1 Fergus Falls lead.  Skjeret assisted on the goal.  Bismarck’s other goal cat at 11:23 when Madison Flemmer scored from Aspen Eslinger.  Hulter then scored a power play goal from Norgren with a minute to play in the game for the final tally.
