The Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley girls’ basketball teams has reasons to be optimistic as they begin the 2022-23 season.  First of all, they return everyone from a team that went 10-14 a year ago.  Secondly they feature a solid group of returning letter winners, led by seniors Jessica Moberg (G), Mataya Gibson (G), Alaina Andrews (G), Abby Sigler (F) and Gracie Groebner (F).

Incoming senior Jessica Moberg broke the single game points record with 41 and also the single game rebound record with 25 during her junior year.

Other returning letter winners are junior Grace Cardwell (G) and sophomores Addison Ward (G) and Chloe Cardwell (G).  Other girls vying for varsity minutes will be juniors Emmy Anderson (G) and Birkley Herberg (F), sophomores Macy Anderson (G) and Brianna DeNeui (F), and freshman Emily Kellen (F).

“Really looking forward to returning the entire group this season and moving forward from the momentum the girls finished with last year,” commented ninth-year Head Coach Tory Issendorf.

Tanner Jeske will serve as assistant coach and Brice Hoffmann as junior high coach.

Issendorf sees Hancock, Wheaton, Underwood and Henning as the top teams in Section 6A, with the Owls, Rockets and Warriors as the teams to beat in the Little Eight Conference.
