Warriors Remain Unbeaten with 37-0 Quarterfinal Win Over Red Rock County

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross remained unbeaten at 12-0 with a 37-0 victory over Red Rock County in the 9-Man State quarterfinals on Thursday night in Buffalo.  The Warriors will now play in the state semifinals on Thursday morning at 10:30 at US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.  Their opponent will be the winner of the Friday matchup between Mt. Iron-Buhl and Kittson County Central.

The Warriors scored a first quarter touchdown when Grant Dawson recovered a fumble in the end zone and they converted the two-point try on a run by Bryant Callenius for an 8-0 lead.

Three second quarter TD's put the halftime lead at 31-0.  Marshal Tolifson connected with Clint Determan on a 29 yard touchdown pass and the two-point try was again successful by Callenius for a 16-0 advantage.  The lead increased to 24-0 after a 4 yard run by Callenius and another two-point conversion when Callenius caught a pass from Determan.  A 3 yard run by Brayden Hofer and a PAT kick by Determan put the score at 31-0.

Early in the third quarter defensive lineman Brody Morrow intercepted a pass, returning it 3 yards for the final TD of the night.

Tolifson completed 12-of-19 passes for 120 yards and Hofer ran for 102 yards on 19 attempts.  Leading receivers were Dylan Bainbridge (3 catches, 39 yards) and Determan (3 catches, 35 yards, TD).

The Warriors had 371 total yards (120 passing, 21 rushing) and 23 first downs in the game.  They held Red Rock County to 0 first downs and 189 yards.
