Tyra Skjeret scored five goals and assisted on another to lead the Fergus Falls girls' hockey team to a 14-0 opening night victory at Detroit Lakes. Four of her goals came in the first period as the Otters jumped out to a 7-0 lead after one. Fergus Falls had 55 shots on goal to only 5 for the Lakers.
Maddie Hulter (2 goals, 3 assists), Maddie Brimhall (2 goals, 1 assist), Rachel Debrito (1 goal, 1 assist), Skye Norgren (2 goals), Isabel Kloster (2 assists) and Ella Starzl (2 assists) all had multiple points in the game. Ava Werner and Lydia Johnson each scored their first varsity goals and each earned an assist.
Assists went to Hannah Johnson, Rylynn Krein, Maggie Greenagel, Averie Tonneson and Ava Eklund. Goalie Lexi Metcalf earned the shutout.
