The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team will be a lot younger this year after having graduated 8 seniors from their 19-6-2 Section 6A runner-up team of a year ago. Head Coach Tim Lill is in his eighth season leading the Otters. He will be assisted by Todd Hershner, Brooks Andersen and Nikki Kaasa.
Returning letter winners include seniors Maddie Hulter (F), Skye Norgren (D) and Tyra Skjeret (F), and junior goalies Ana Jyrkas and Lexi Metcalf, along with freshman Hannah Johnson (F).
“I expect us to start a little slow as we lost 8 seniors, but we have a very competitive and fast younger, hungry core of skaters,” noted Lill. “Our two junior goalies will give us a chance in every game.”
Lill sees Willmar, River Lakes and Northern Lakes as top teams in Section 6A, while Alexandria, Brainerd and St. Cloud will be the teams to beat in the Central Lakes Conference.
