Mykenzie Broadland enters year two as head coach of the Breckenridge-Wahpeton Blades girls’ hockey team eleven returning letter winners from their inaugural season of 2021-2022.  Alicia Finkral will serve as assistant coach of the Blades.

“Last season was our first year competing in Minnesota as a girls varsity team, previously playing 19U girls’ hockey in North Dakota,” said Coach Broadland.  “Overall, I was impressed with how we contended with the teams and how well we adjusted to playing high caliber teams.”

The Blades return a solid core of seniors, including forwards Reagan Wohlers, Alison Hoerer, Kennedy Schuler and Lily Beyer, and defenseman Ivy Ovsak.  Juniors Addie Rugland (D) and Anabel Pausch (F), sophomores Karsyn Neppl (F) and Kolle Schuler (G), and freshmen Ashlyn Wohlers (F) and Britta Pausch (D) are also back.

“A lot of strong seniors offensively this year, hoping to continue to see the offensive success we had last year,” added Broadland.  “We will be looking to improve defensively this season.”
