The top-seeded Henning Hornets captured the North Sub-Section 6A volleyball championship on Thursday night with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-21) victory over Breckenridge at the Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls. The Hornets will now advance to the Section 6A title match against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 7:00pm Saturday in Fergus Falls. The Jaguars were 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-12) winners over Brandon-Evansville in the South Sub-Section 6A championship match on Thursday.
Henning senior Ally Hart, the school’s all-time leader in digs, reached the 2000 dig milestone in the match. She also led the Hornets with 9 kills and 3 blocks. Gretchen Eckhoff added 9 kills, Becca Frederick had 6 kills and setter Livia Misegades finished with 5 kills.
Breckenridge was led by senior Abby Johnson with 8 kills and one block. Addison Twidwell added 6 blocks and a pair of kills. Katlyn Kaehler and Mattea Vig contributed 6 and 5 kills, respectively.
